Prompt: Memory
* * * * *
"You have to help me! I can't bear to remember this!" The young woman dropped to her knees, clutching the hem of my skirts, franticly attempting to keep me from walking away.
I bent down, took her chin in my hand, and looked into her tear-filled eyes. "Why, child? Why are you so desperate to forget? You are young yet; memories fade with time. Mayhap the lesson learned is one best left in your mind and heart."
I pulled my skirts from her hands and walked away, not looking back though her wails began to echo through the streets.

Yeah I am currently working on one original fic which might turn out to be novel length, but I have another short story on the go and a longer one that needs drastic editing. Not enough hours in the day!
